Damage Amounts from the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake and Revision of Full-Year Earnings Forecast

As a result of the Kumamoto earthquake, there has been a significant decline in railway passenger transport revenue, including on the Kyushu Shinkansen, and a decrease in revenue due to temporary closures of some station buildings. Consequently, approximately 9.0 billion yen in railway infrastructure damage is expected to be recorded as extraordinary losses. Station building-related operating revenue is expected to decrease by about 700 million yen, and approximately 200 million yen in restoration costs are expected to be recorded as extraordinary losses.

Revision of Full-Year Earnings Forecast and Dividend Policy

The consolidated and non-consolidated full-year earnings forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 2027 have been revised. Net sales remain unchanged from the previous forecast at 520,500 million yen, operating income is unchanged at 75,000 million yen, and ordinary income is unchanged at 70,900 million yen. However, net income attributable to owners of parent is reduced to 47,000 million yen (decrease of -4,600 million yen, -8.9% from the previous forecast), and net income per share is reduced to 305.35 yen. The dividend policy maintains an interim dividend of 60.50 yen and an annual dividend of 121 yen.
