Sysmex Corporation engages in the development, manufacture, and sale of diagnostic instruments, reagents, and related software. It offers hematology, a major test routinely included in blood tests; Flow Cytometry (FCM) analyzes cell properties by irradiating individual cells with a laser and measuring the intensity of light scattering and fluorescence; urinalysis test checks for the presence of glucose, proteins, and blood in urine; clinical chemistry; hemostasis; immunochemistry; cancer gene testing; and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. The company also provides Caresphere, an ICT solution, which integrates and analyzes real time various data managed through testing instruments and clinical testing information systems, and supports the efficient operation of clinical laboratories; and involved in the medical robotics business. It serves products and services to medical institutions, clinical laboratories, animal hospitals, and research institutes. The company was formerly known as TOA Medical Electronics Co., Ltd. and changed its name to Sysmex Corporation in October 1998. Sysmex Corporation was founded in 1968 and is headquartered in Kobe, Japan.
