Central Japan Railway Company resolved at the Board of Directors meeting on April 28, 2026, to acquire and cancel treasury stock with the aim of enhancing shareholder returns and improving capital efficiency. The shares targeted for acquisition are the company's common stock, with an upper acquisition limit of 6,500,000 shares and a total acquisition value ceiling of 20 billion yen. The acquisition period is from May 1, 2026 to July 31, 2026, with the acquisition method being market purchase on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

All acquired treasury shares are scheduled to be cancelled on August 31, 2026. This will reduce the total number of issued shares (excluding treasury stock) by approximately 0.68%, improving capital efficiency. As of March 31, 2026, the number of treasury shares held was 44,996,991 shares, and this acquisition and cancellation will be added on top of that.
