Purpose of Service Consideration Commencement

Amid the international acceleration of lunar surface infrastructure development, ispace, Inc. has leveraged its track record in lunar landing missions to begin considering the launch of the ‘Luna Connect Service,’ a communication and positioning service utilizing lunar orbit satellites. The company plans to deploy at least five of its own lunar orbit satellites by 2030 to provide services to customers operating on the lunar surface and in lunar orbit. Regarding ground station infrastructure, a basic agreement has been signed with KDDI, and joint consideration is underway.

Market Size and Future Outlook

The company estimates the service’s market size will grow to approximately 450 billion yen annually by the 2040s. The first lunar orbit satellite will be deployed using transportation services from Argo Space Corp (USA), targeting a launch and communication service start as early as fiscal 2027. In the future, advanced and multilayered service deployment with multiple satellites will be considered to accelerate the construction of the cis-lunar economic zone. There is no impact on the full-year consolidated earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2026 due to this matter.
