Overview of New Factory and Distribution Center Construction

FP Corporation resolved at its Board of Directors meeting on April 30, 2026, to invest approximately 58 billion yen to build a new factory and distribution center in Bando City, Ibaraki Prefecture. The new factory aims to establish a mass production system for a new material, "ultra-high rigidity biaxially oriented polypropylene sheet (product name: "OPTENA")", targeting commercial production start in the first half of 2029. The site area is 51,819.61 square meters, with a total floor area of 83,103.51 square meters in a four-story steel structure. The plan is to invest about 41 billion yen for the production plant and about 17 billion yen for the distribution center.

Business Strategy and Future Outlook

The new OPP sheet offers excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, oil resistance, and chemical resistance, and is expected to have broad applications beyond food containers, including civil engineering materials and the mobility sector. To respond to the increasing logistics demand in the metropolitan area, a distribution center will be co-located with the new factory to strengthen a stable supply system in cooperation with existing logistics bases. The new factory is scheduled for completion in September 2028. There will be no impact on the current consolidated financial results, but disclosures will be made appropriately based on future developments.
