Overview of Treasury Stock Acquisition

Mitsui Chemicals, Inc., based on a resolution by the Board of Directors on 2026-02-05, conducted treasury stock acquisition in accordance with Articles 165 and 156 of the Companies Act. Between 2026-04-01 and 2026-04-27, the company acquired 6,584,000 shares of treasury stock totaling 12,736,601,985 yen and completed the acquisition upon reaching the acquisition price cap. The acquisition method was market purchases, with an acquisition limit set at 18,400,000 shares and 30 billion yen.

Treasury Stock Cancellation and Future Outlook

Following the same Board resolution, the company plans to cancel 20,100,256 shares of treasury stock on 2026-08-31. After cancellation, the total number of outstanding shares will be 381,587,374 shares. The cancellation will be executed so that the company's treasury stock holdings approximate about 5% of the total outstanding shares.
