Business Performance Overview

Consolidated net sales for this quarter reached 72,318 million yen, up 3.5% YoY, marking a record high. However, operating profit was 5,776 million yen (down 9.3%), as domestic segments including Marugame Seimen could not fully absorb the rise in personnel costs. Overseas businesses expanded, supported by Tam Jai, etc. Operating income declined to 5,294 million yen (down 34.3%), and profit attributable to owners of parent stood at 3,031 million yen (down 31.0%). There is no change to the full-year outlook, and earnings per share were 33.25 yen (basic) and 33.06 yen (diluted).

Trends by Segment and Outlook

While expanding domestic and international sales channels for Marugame Seimen and developing new products, absorption of rising domestic labor costs remains a challenge. The overseas segment remains solid with expansion of Tam Jai and MARUGAME UDON and ongoing cost control.
